About the Book:

Like the concept of terroir used to designate a special place to grow grapes and make wines, each region has its culinary terroir, that special mixture of the ethnic heritages of the people who settled it, its soil and its climate that nurture the foods grown there, and its visionary chefs, restaurateurs, farmers, winegrowers and food merchants who bring everything together for the consumer.

This book is about a very special culinary terroir – that of the Brandywine River that flows through Pennsylvania and Delaware and the lands adjacent to it. The book contains many treasures for the lover of food, wine and travel. First and foremost, there are 75 recipes, some simple, some challenging, from the best chefs in the region. Second, there are well over 180 beautiful color photos of the landscape, the dishes that go with the recipes and the people who produced them. Finally, there are 160 pages of rich stories about the more than three centuries of cultural heritage of the region, but primarily it is about the chefs, winemakers, produce farmers and food artisans that give such culinary richness to the Brandywine.

So we present you with the Brandywine Book of Food. Read, view, cook, and enjoy. Pull up a chair.
